Clean a Stainless Steel Barbecue
Your stainless steel barbecue grill should be cleaned regularly to prevent damage and maintain its original appearance. Food buildup and grease can cause smoke and grease fires. It can also hinder your grill's cooking performance. When cleaning, however, it is important you use the right products. Stainless steel is resistant to rust, but abrasive products can scratch and mar the surface. Harsh cleansers corrode your grill, leading to discolorations, surface pitting and, eventually, rust. Proper care ensures your BBQ grill will last for years.
4.Repeat after every use to prevent food and dirt from building up.
5. Use an oven cleaner to dislodge any stubborn, baked on food stains. A spray-on formula is easy to use -- spray it directly on the stains, then wipe off with a clean, dry cloth.
6.Apply a commercial cleaner designed specifically for stainless steel to all stained, discolored surfaces. Use a soft cloth to rub the product in, working in the same direction as the grill's polish lines.
7.Rinse the product away with water only. To prevent streaks, dry with a soft towel. Use a commercial cleaner as needed to remove stains. However, when routine cleaning is done, this may be necessary only a few times a year.
